7th Annual Black Men in White Coats Summit
What: During this free, in-person event, students will be introduced to health care professionals, job opportunities, mentoring programs, and opportunities to work with community organizations to advance their health care careers.

The Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Skill-building Courses
What: The Alzheimer’s Association offers a range of caregiver skill-building courses. Each course includes questions to check existing knowledge and exercises to apply new learnings to personal caregiving situations. The courses aim to help caregivers feel more prepared to handle the challenges that come with caring for someone living with dementia.

Heart to Heart: A Support Group for Managing Heart Failure
What: A safe and compassionate environment for individuals living with heart failure and their loved ones, offering education, emotional support and strategies to help manage heart failure conditions and improve quality of life.
When: 2-3 p.m., 4th Friday of every month

JA Inspire
What: JA Inspire is a career exploration program designed for students to learn about and gain exposure to the industries and career opportunities available to them across the Mid-South. The program culminates with both a hands-on expo for eighth graders and an interactive virtual career fair for 11th graders, which brings to life a variety of careers while highlighting the different educational pathways to obtaining them.

American Cancer Society's VOICES of Black Women study
What: This is a groundbreaking study that aims to involve 100,000 Black women (25-55 years old) in 20 states to better understand cancer and other health conditions among Black women. Participation involves completing an online health and life history survey at enrollment and updating info twice a year for at least 30 years. This is the largest study of cancer risk and outcomes (links below):
