Michael S Muhlbauer, MD

Dr. Michael Muhlbauer is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Semmes-Murphey who has been practicing pediatric neurosurgery since 1987. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. His practice also includes adult neurosurgery in addition to pediatric neurosurgery with special interest in trauma neurosurgery, adult and pediatric nerve injuries, and adult and pediatric complex spine cases. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Dr. Muhlbauer completed his residency in neurosurgery, with a rotation in pediatric neurosurgery, at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He also completed a three-month rotation in pediatric and adult neurosurgery at Frenchay Hospital Locum Registrar in Bristol, England. He joined Semmes-Murphey in 1987.
