Irene Elizabeth Ulm, MD

Dr. Rene Ulm was born in Zohren, Germany. She moved to Memphis in 2005 to attend college. After completing her medical education and training here, she and her family made Memphis their home. Dr. Ulm is board certified in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery, and she specializes general surgery including hernia repair, bowel resection, gallbladder removal, appendix removal and soft tissue masses.

It is important that patients and physicians are partners and able to work together for the common goal of improved health.

What hobbies or activities do you enjoy when you're not working?

I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, running and traveling.

What about your line of work do you find the most rewarding and why?

I love the personal relationships I get to develop with patients, and being able to care for someone with kindness and compassion when they are most in need.
