Volunteer Opportunities for United Way’s Days of Caring

Days of Caring is the community's largest, single-day volunteer-driven service opportunity. Every year, United Way mobilizes thousands of volunteers to help improve our community one project at a time. Baptist team members have two opportunities to take part this year:

Memphis Blight Authority Community Clean-Up – Saturday, Oct. 8, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join your fellow Baptist team members for this one-day beautification project. Volunteers will help with ground control by removing debris and trash from a designated area. Memphis City Beautiful will supply all tools needed. However, we recommend that volunteers wear closed-toe shoes and bring work gloves if they have them.

Volunteers should come to the Hamilton High School parking lot, located at 1363 Person Avenue, Memphis, TN, 38106, no later than 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 8 to register and be provided with project instructions. Please look for United Way of the Mid-South tents and signage. After the morning briefing, MATA buses will provide transportation from Hamilton High School to the opportunity site. MATA will circle the lot to pick up individuals and drop them off. The Memphis Police Department will provide security at Hamilton High School and our clean-up site.
